ProActive CEO Joins the Board of Solar Advisory Group
Oakland, California, December 17, 2010. DeeDee Towery, President and CEO of ProActive Business Solutions, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the fast-rising Solar Advisory Group (SAG) of Santa Clara, CA. SAG serves as a consulting firm catering to companies with renewable energy or solar initiatives. Its services are tailored towards large commercial and industrial entities which may not have the time, knowledge, or resources to get the solar process started and implemented.
SAG has assembled a very experienced and talented board of directors who have been instrumental in the assembly of SAG as well as its strategic alliances. The board includes executives from leading mechanical contractors, engineering firms, capital equipment manufacturers, universities, and now an IT-focused, project management firm.
SAG provides solar assessments to determine the feasibility of solar as a solution and, if determined to be feasible, whether an owner-financed solar system or a leased system—through power purchase agreement—is most viable. The initial assessment includes an energy audit to identify strategies for organically reducing energy consumption, securing low-cost/high-efficiency panels, and working with local installation teams. SAG also creates a competitive environment for its clients’ solar initiatives by issuing RFPs and soliciting bids from both solar power developers who can offer power purchase agreements to their clients and from local installers who can install owner-financed solar solutions.
After evaluating the submitted bids, SAG selects the most viable bidder, provides its recommendation to the client, and commences the solar implementation process.
During the implementation process, SAG continues to act on behalf of its clients by ensuring that they apply for federal, state, and local subsidies, by managing the installation process, and by measuring and reporting the efficiency of the solar system using highly advanced, remote efficiency-measurement technology.
As a cause-driven organization, SAG believes that its services help deliver the most effective solar solutions and eliminate impediments to sustainability goals. “It’s about identifying where we can help companies reduce their use of energy first, then helping them implement a solar solution that will produce low-cost efficiency. It’s our environmental responsibility to recognize technological advances and opportunities to further enhance this country’s charge towards renewable energy,” said Shiraz Madan, one of SAG’s Directors.
With direct relationships with the most technologically advanced solar manufacturers, SAG able to utilize energy saving benefits realized in the solar industry and delivers them for everyday commercial use.
